Bermuda is not in the Caribbean — it lies in the North Atlantic, about 1,000km east of the US coast. The water is cooler than the Caribbean. The famous pink sand beaches (Horseshoe Bay, Warwick Long Bay) get their colour from tiny red shell fragments. The beaches are truly spectacular.

Rental cars for tourists are not permitted in Bermuda — so you cannot hire a car. The best way to get around is by moped/e-bike (18+ only, helmet required), public bus or ferry. The island is smaller than you think — only 34km long and very narrow.

The Bermuda Triangle surrounds the island — but locals are relaxed about it. Bermuda is exceptionally safe and one of the world's wealthiest islands (finance sector). The Crystal Cave system is impressive and open for guided tours. Snorkelling at the offshore wrecks is excellent.

Golf is a major activity — Bermuda has more golf courses per square kilometre than almost any other country. Mid Ocean Club and Port Royal Golf Course are world-famous. Bermuda style: knee-length Bermuda shorts are formal wear — even in business meetings.
