Frequently Asked Questions

Poland eSIM

Poland has solid 4G/LTE coverage in cities and along main transport corridors. Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk and Wrocław are very well covered. In rural regions and the mountains the signal can thin out.
After purchase you'll get a QR code by email. Go to your phone settings, tap 'Add eSIM' and scan the code. Done in two minutes. Best to set it up at home — so you land in Warsaw or Kraków already online.
Warsaw has Chopin Airport (WAW), the main international airport. Kraków has John Paul II Airport (KRK). Gdańsk has Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN). Wrocław (WRO), Poznań (ŁCJ), Katowice (KTW) and Lodz (ŁCJ) are other key airports.
Poland uses the Polish złoty (PLN). Cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops in cities. At market squares and in small rural places cash may be preferred. Poland is significantly cheaper than western Europe.
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal. Summer is good for Kraków and the Baltic coast. Winter is cold but Kraków's Christmas market on the Main Market Square is one of Europe's most beautiful.

Travel Tips

PolandUseful tips for your trip

Kraków's old town and the Jewish quarter Kazimierz are two different worlds — both UNESCO World Heritage. Visit the old town early morning before the tour groups arrive. Kazimierz has the most authentic nightlife and restaurants in the city.

Poland is significantly cheaper than western Europe. A restaurant lunch costs 20–40 PLN (⁈4–9), a beer 8–15 PLN. Polish cuisine is hearty and delicious — try pierogi (filled dumplings), bigos (stew with cabbage and meat) and żurek (sour rye soup served in a bread bowl).

Auschwitz-Birkenau is just 70km from Kraków and reachable by bus transfer. Book tickets and guided tours online in advance — without a reservation you will be turned away. It is a profound and essential visit.

Warsaw's surprisingly beautiful old town was rebuilt from scratch after World War II — a UNESCO World Heritage site not for its original age but for its reconstruction. The Warsaw Uprising Museum and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews are world-class museums.

Polish public transport is good and cheap. Between cities, PKP Intercity and express trains run — book online at pkp.pl. Kraków is extremely walkable; the old town and Kazimierz can be explored on foot. In Warsaw the metro is fast but trams and buses cover the whole city.

Poland — Kraków's medieval old town, Warsaw as a rising metropolis, the Auschwitz memorial and the Masurian Lakes. Order your eSIM, get your QR code instantly, set up before you fly. Connected in Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk and everywhere, no roaming.
