Does the eSIM plan start the moment it's installed?

Usually no. For most Airlivo plans, validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination — not when you install it. So you can safely install the eSIM days before your trip at home over Wi-Fi without wasting time. (A few special plans may start at purchase; this is noted in the plan details.)
