How long does activation take?

Installing the eSIM (scanning the QR and downloading the profile) usually takes a few minutes. When you arrive, turning the eSIM on and enabling data roaming lets it connect within a few seconds to a few minutes. If it doesn't connect, toggling airplane mode usually speeds it up.
