My iMessage number changed — how do I fix it?

iMessage/FaceTime can sometimes pick the eSIM line and show the wrong number. To fix it: in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, keep your own number/email selected for iMessage; do the same in Settings > FaceTime. Turning iMessage off and on also refreshes the association.
