Can MDM or a company profile block eSIM installation?

Yes. If your phone is managed by your employer (MDM), the organization's policy can block installing eSIMs or adding new lines. If you see the option greyed out or a restriction notice, talk to your company's IT department. On a personal phone you won't have this limitation.
