Does a factory reset delete the eSIM?

Yes. Factory-resetting the phone (or 'Erase All Content and Settings') removes eSIM profiles, and you usually can't reload them with the same QR. Avoid resetting your phone during a trip; if you must, contact Airlivo support first.
