You don't need to delete the eSIM — you can turn it off temporarily. iPhone: Settings > Cellular > the line > turn off 'Turn On This Line'. Android: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > switch the eSIM off. When you turn it back on, your plan continues where it left off (if it hasn't expired).
