How do I install my eSIM?

After purchase we email you a QR code. Go to your phone's Settings → Mobile/Cellular → Add eSIM, scan the QR code, and follow the prompts. The whole process takes about two minutes.

I received a QR code — what do I do with it?

Open Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM (or 'Add Data Plan') and scan the QR code with your camera. Your eSIM will be added. We recommend saving the email so you can re-scan it if needed.

When should I activate my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Install it before you travel, but most plans start counting validity when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination. So install early and simply switch it on when you land.

Can I install the eSIM before my trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we recommend it — install it at home over Wi-Fi. It won't use data or start your plan until it connects to a network abroad and you enable it.

I lost my QR code or didn't get the email — what now?

First check your spam folder. You can also find the QR code any time in your Airlivo account under your orders. If you still can't see it, contact our support and we'll resend it.

Can I install the same eSIM on two phones?

Accepted Answer

No. Each eSIM QR code can only be installed on one device. If you need data on a second phone, you'll need a separate eSIM.

How do I install an eSIM on an iPhone (step by step)?

Connect to Wi-Fi, then add the eSIM under Settings → Cellular and scan the QR code we sent you. Keep your home line for calls and set the Airlivo eSIM for data. Connect to Wi-Fi. Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM. Tap 'Use QR Code' and scan the code from our email. Label the plan, e.g. 'Airlivo'. Set the Airlivo eSIM as your Cellular Data line. Turn on Data Roaming for the Airlivo eSIM.

How do I install an eSIM on a Samsung or Android phone?

On most Samsung and Android phones you add the eSIM under the SIM manager, scan the QR code, then set it as mobile data and enable Data Roaming for it. Connect to Wi-Fi. Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager. Tap 'Add eSIM' (or 'Add mobile plan'). Scan the QR code from our email. Turn on the Airlivo eSIM and set it as mobile data. Enable Data Roaming for the eSIM.

I can't scan the QR code — can I install the eSIM manually?

Yes. Choose 'Enter details manually' when adding the eSIM and paste the activation code (it starts with 'LPA:1$…') from your order email. This is the way to install on the same phone that is showing the QR code.

Do I need Wi-Fi to install and activate my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Yes — installing an eSIM requires an internet connection, so use Wi-Fi at home before you travel, or airport Wi-Fi when you land. Once installed and switched on at your destination, it connects on its own.

For manual setup you need the SM-DP+ address and the activation code — both are in your order email, usually shown as a single line starting with 'LPA:1$…'. Enter them under 'Add eSIM → Enter details manually'.

On Pixel: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > 'Add SIM' or '+' > choose 'Download a SIM instead?', scan the QR code Airlivo sent, then follow the on-screen steps. Setup takes a few minutes; once done you can set the eSIM as your data line.

How do I install an eSIM on a Xiaomi phone?

On Xiaomi/MIUI: Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > 'Use eSIM' or 'Add SIM' > scan the Airlivo QR code and follow the steps. Note: not all Xiaomi models support eSIM, so make sure yours does.

How do I scan the QR code from the same phone?

You can't scan a QR code with the same phone's camera while it's on that phone's screen. Two options: scan the QR from another screen (a computer or second phone); or use 'Enter details manually' in the Add eSIM step and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code. Airlivo provides these in your email and account.

What are the SM-DP+ address and activation code?

They're the two details needed to install an eSIM manually, without a QR code. The SM-DP+ address is the server your eSIM profile downloads from; the activation code identifies that profile. Airlivo provides both in your activation email and plan details — just enter them on your phone's 'Add eSIM manually' screen.

How do I know the eSIM installation is complete?

When it's done, a new line (e.g. 'Airlivo' or 'Secondary') appears in your phone's settings and signal bars show for that line in the status bar. Once you set mobile data to that line and turn on data roaming, the internet starts working. The plan's validity usually begins when it first connects to a network.

Where does my installed eSIM appear on the phone?

On iPhone: Settings > Cellular, in the list of lines (you can rename it). On Android: under Settings > Connections > SIM manager (or SIMs). From there you can turn the eSIM on or off and set it as your data line.

How do I give my eSIM a name?

Accepted Answer

You can label your eSIM so you don't mix up lines. iPhone: Settings > Cellular > the line > 'Cellular Plan Label' > choose a name (e.g. 'Airlivo Travel'). On Android you can edit the line's name in the SIM manager.

Why do I get a 'Cellular Plan cannot be added' error?

It's usually one of: the phone isn't carrier-unlocked, the internet connection is weak or missing, the QR code was already used, or the device doesn't support eSIM. Connect to Wi-Fi, make sure the phone is unlocked, and try again. If it persists, contact Airlivo support.

How many times can I use the QR code?

An eSIM QR code is usually single-use — once installed, it can't be scanned again. So think twice before deleting the eSIM. If you delete it by mistake or need to move to a new device, Airlivo support can help with your options.

Question 21

I deleted my eSIM by mistake — can I reinstall it?

Accepted Answer

Because QR codes are usually single-use, you often can't reinstall a deleted eSIM with the same code. Check your account/email; in some cases the profile can be reloaded. If you can't, contact Airlivo support to review the options for your remaining plan.
